About us

Glow is a British brand that offers handmade natural body balms.

Applying shea butter every day has lots of benefits — plus it's a daily ritual that flat out feels good. Using shea butter regularly helps skin retain moisture, which makes it soft and smooth. Since it's loaded with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory agents, it may also keep your skin supple.

Where does Shea butter come from?

Shea Butter is a wild-growing African tree that produces a tiny, almond-like fruit with a nut inside.

The nut would be separated  from the fallen fruit, then boil and let the butter float to the surface. The butter is then milled and filtered for impurities, packaged in blocks and shipped to us so we can bring it to you. Shea Butter is known as “women’s gold” in Africa because it is a valuable source of income for the women in Ghana. All Shea Butter from Better Shea Butter & Skin Foods is unrefined, organic, high-quality and always fresh from Ghana in West Africa.

What are the benefits of shea butter?

Shea butter works like an emollient. It also contains substances that can reduce skin swelling. It may help soften or smooth dry skin. This might help treat conditions associated with skin swelling such as eczema.

Can shea butter be used on face?

Shea butter is gentle enough to be used every day in your skincare routine, whether on its own, or as an ingredient in your facial moisturizer. As with any moisturizer, shea butter will help lock in hydration, so make sure to begin your skincare ritual by cleansing, or double cleansing your face

Should I use shea butter everyday?

According to experts, it's highly advisable to use unrefined Shea butter daily on your skin which is what we use. It's proved that those who are using Shea butter for months or years benefitted a lot to get rid of rough skin patches and other skin issues.

Who should not use shea butter?

Shea butter is derived from the shea nut. So if you have a tree nut allergy, shea butter may trigger it. Even though the amount of protein in shea butter is quite small, it can provoke a reaction in someone who is very sensitive.

Its just about finding what works for you and your skin type.
